Stellar Naseem Blows Afghanistan with His Last Over Blitz

Naseem Shah usually known for his aggressive and hostile bowling spell, has produced a match winning show against Afghanistan last night. With 11 runs required of last over, Naseem Shah smashed them with a ball to spare. With the match winning innings from Naseem Shah against Afghanistan, Pakistan leads the series by 2-0.

According to details, the 2nd ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan started at Hambantota, Sri Lanka. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to test their batting strength first. Afghanistan openers Ibrahim and Gurbaz started steadily and turned the skipper’s decision into Afghanistan’s favour.

Both the players played eye catching shots all over the park. The openers provided Afghanistan with a solid foundation of 227 runs. Ibrahim was the first man to dismiss who got out for 80. However, Gurbaz ever himself from smashing the Green Shirt’s bowling. He got out after playing an outrageous ODI innings of 151. With the help of the two, Afghanistan easily managed to score 300 for the loss of 5 wickets.

Pakistan in reply, started well and Fakhar and Imam provided opening stand of 52. Fakhar was the first one to go when he was at individual score of 30. Then came the King Babar Azam to the crease and immediately got going. Both Babar and Imam played delightful shots and kept Afghan bowlers honest.

Babar Azam got out to a very soft dismissal. He was departed at 53. Imam Ul Haq also got out soon after Babar, but not before scoring beautiful 91 runs. There was collapse then and Pakistan lost wickets regularly without adding too much to the score column. However, Shadab’s 48 helped Pakistan to reach a stage where they can hope for win.

In the last over, Pakistan required 11 runs and had 3 wickets in hand. Shadab Khan was on the non-striker’s end. Fazalhaq Farooqi who was there to bowl the last over “Mankaded” Shadab Khan which created more heated environment.

However, Naseem Shah who had already done it last year again the very bowler, was on strike. Naseem held his nerves and poise. Naseem didn’t disappointed this time either and scored those 11 runs and won the most exciting match for Pakistan. The celebration of Naseem after the win was something to watch again and again.

So, Pakistan now has undefeatable lead of 2-0 in the series.
